Programme of Concerts

The Octagon Singers will be performing the following concerts:

Sunday 6 November 2011 at 3pm

The Rotary Club of Norwich presents

The Lighter Side of the Octagon Singers

An invitation from the President of the Rotary Club of Norwich was extended to the Octagon Singers to give a concert of popular music such as theme from television programmes, films and musicals. Programme to include

• Nella Fantasia (Gabriel’s Oboe from ‘The Mission) by Ennio Morricone,
• The Lord is my Shepherd (theme from ‘The Vicar of Dibley) by Howard Goodall,
• Close ev’ry door to me (Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat)by Andrew Lloyd Webber,
• The Hippopotamus Song (from ‘At the Drop of a Hat’) by Flanders and Swann,
• I know him so well (from ‘Chess) by Benny Andersson,
• and a medley from ‘Les Miserables’ by Schönberg and Kretzmer.

Narrated by Paul Binney, the Octagon Singers will be accompanied by Judy Tovey – Piano and Conducted by Mary Rae.

Octagon Psalms was written in 1994 for the 10th Anniversary of the Octagon Concert Series. It is dedicated to the Octagon Singers who gave the first performance.
